The KD-IP1080RX is the receiver half of Key Digital's HDMI-over-IP system. Unlike a fixed matrix, an IP-based system scales by adding endpoints to a network switch — so a system that starts as four displays can become forty without replacing the core, which is why AV-over-IP has largely displaced matrix switching on larger jobs.
