The HID 923NPRTEK005A9 is a pivCLASS RPKCL40-P contactless smart card reader for access control systems. An access control reader is mounted at the door and reads the credential a person presents, then sends that data to the access control panel, which decides whether to release the lock. PIV-class readers are used where government-style smart card credentials must be read at the door.
