Model 40TKS-03-01DHEK is a Signo 40 Contactless Smartcard Reader made by HID Global. A contactless reader sits beside the door and passes each presented credential to the access control panel, which decides whether to release the lock. Field wires land on a terminal strip, which makes replacing the reader later straightforward. The card profile sets which credential types it reads out of the box.
