The Signo 40 Contactless Smart Card Reader 40NKS-02-002J4C from HID is a door reader for access control systems: a user presents a credential and the controller grants or denies entry. The pigtail lead is spliced directly into the controller cable at the door. Readers like this mount at the door, while the access controller makes the unlock decision and logs the event.
