ESP32 HaleHound WiFi & Bluetooth Signal Monitor with 2.8” Touchscreen and Acrylic Case

$64.99 $100.00

The ESP32 HaleHound WiFi, Bluetooth & RF Security Research Dev Board is a compact touchscreen development board for wireless learning, signal awareness, and cybersecurity research. Built around the ESP32 platform and packaged in a clear acrylic enclosure, this device gives hobbyists, students, makers, and security-minded users a portable way to explore nearby wireless activity from a simple 2.8” touch interface.

This unit comes with HaleHound firmware v3.4.0 (or newer) installed on a 2.8” ESP32 touchscreen board. HaleHound-CYD is described by its developer as a multi-protocol ESP32 security toolkit for the ESP32-2432S028 “Cheap Yellow Display” platform, with menus for WiFi, Bluetooth, SIGINT, 2.4GHz, SubGHz, RFID, tools, settings, and related modules. Some features work directly from the onboard ESP32 hardware, while other advanced RF features require optional external modules such as CC1101, NRF24L01, PN532, GPS, or compatible RF expansion hardware.

STS Collective focuses on practical communication devices, cybersecurity-inspired accessories, privacy tools, and tech gear for people who value functionality, privacy, and innovation, making this a strong fit for a lab bench, learning kit, or portable wireless research setup.

What It Can Be Used For

Use this as a compact educational tool for:

  • Learning about WiFi, Bluetooth, and RF security concepts
  • Monitoring nearby wireless signal activity
  • Viewing RSSI and signal strength behavior
  • Exploring ESP32-based firmware and touchscreen interfaces
  • Testing defensive wireless awareness workflows
  • Building a portable cybersecurity, maker, or RF research kit

HaleHound Firmware Capabilities

Depending on configuration and installed hardware, HaleHound includes support for WiFi-focused tools, Bluetooth/BLE tools, SIGINT and defensive monitoring modules, SubGHz analysis, 2.4GHz monitoring, RFID/NFC tools, GPS-assisted logging, and a unified touchscreen interface. The public HaleHound materials describe features such as WiFi monitoring, Bluetooth/BLE scanning, wardriving with GPS, LAN/IoT recon, Flock Safety/Raven-style BLE fingerprint detection, jam detection, SubGHz spectrum analysis, Flipper .sub file transmit support, PN532 RFID/NFC card functions, and a unified loot/log manager.

Features That Should Work From the Built-In ESP32 Hardware

These are the safest features to advertise as likely available without extra RF modules:

  • Touchscreen HaleHound interface
  • WiFi scanning and monitoring
  • Bluetooth/BLE scanning and detection
  • RSSI/signal-strength visibility
  • Basic wireless awareness and educational testing
  • SD-card-supported logging where supported by firmware
  • Settings, tools, and firmware menu functions
  • USB power/data connection

Features That May Require Additional Hardware

Some HaleHound firmware menus may appear even if the required add-on module is not installed. These features may require additional hardware, wiring, configuration, or a compatible RF hat:

  • SubGHz features may require a CC1101 module or compatible RF hat. HaleHound documentation references CC1101-based SubGHz operation across bands such as 300-348 MHz, 387-464 MHz, and 779-928 MHz.
  • 2.4GHz NRF features may require an NRF24L01+PA+LNA module.
  • RFID/NFC features may require an external PN532 module. HaleHound documentation specifically references PN532 support for scanning, reading, cloning, brute force, and emulation of MIFARE Classic cards.
  • GPS/wardriving location logging may require an external GPS module.
  • Advanced SubGHz replay/transmit functions may require a CC1101 or supported RF expansion module.
  • Any external module function may require soldering, jumper wiring, firmware configuration, or a compatible expansion hat.
