Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Silarius collects, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to silarius.com, silariussecurity.com, the Silarius apps and our services.

Last updated: October 25, 2026

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

Silarius LLC ("Silarius", "we", "us" or "our"), 1033 US Highway 46, Suite 204, Clifton, NJ 07013, United States, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. It covers personal information we collect when you visit silarius.com or silariussecurity.com (the "Sites"), use the Silarius mobile apps (the "Apps"), use our planning tools, buy products, subscribe to Silarius Cloud or Silarius Live Monitoring, apply for a dealer account, or otherwise contact us (together, the "Services"). Both Sites are operated by Silarius and share the same store, customer accounts, orders and this policy.

This policy does not cover video, audio, images and related data recorded by cameras that our customers connect to Silarius Cloud or Live Monitoring. For that data, our business customer decides what is recorded and why, and we process it on the customer's behalf (see Section 8). It also does not cover third-party websites, apps or services we link to, which have their own privacy policies.

If this policy conflicts with our Terms of service, this policy controls how we handle personal information.

2. Personal information we collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers and contact details: name, company, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, account name and password, order and customer numbers.
  • Commercial information: products viewed, added to cart or bought, orders, returns, subscriptions, quotes, reward points, reviews, warranty and support history.
  • Payment information: payment method type, billing details and transaction records. Card numbers are collected and processed by our payment processors (for example Shopify Payments); we do not store full card numbers.
  • Planning tool information: the address or place you search for, the map location of your property, camera positions, names and directions, drawings, floor plans, building and apartment details, door and Wi-Fi counts, brands and parts you choose, and plan links you create (see Section 4).
  • Information you send us: messages, chat conversations, quote and contact form submissions, monitoring sign-up details (site address, camera system, monitored hours, contacts and response instructions), dealer applications (business details, licenses and references), files and photos you upload, and survey answers.
  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, referring page, pages viewed, links clicked, search terms, time spent, approximate location derived from your IP address, and similar information collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies (see Section 6).
  • Business information: for business customers and dealers, job title, tax-exempt status and certificates, resale certificates and payment terms.
  • Inferences: preferences and interests we infer from the information above, for example the kinds of products you may want.

We collect account sign-in credentials (which some state laws treat as sensitive personal information) only to give you access to your account. We do not intentionally collect other sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers, health information or biometric information, about visitors to our Sites; please do not send it to us. If you use the camera scanner on silariussecurity.com to read a product label or barcode, the camera image is processed in your browser to read the code and is not sent to us.

3. Where we get personal information

  • From you, when you browse, create an account, order, use a planning tool, fill in a form, chat or email us, leave a review or sign up for a service.
  • Automatically, from your browser or device through cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies.
  • From service providers and partners who help us run the Services, such as Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, fraud prevention services, review and loyalty providers, and monitoring providers.
  • From businesses you work with, for example an installer, dealer or employer who requests a quote or service that includes your details.
  • From publicly available sources, such as business registries, to verify dealer applications.

4. Our planning tools, maps and addresses

Our Site Planner, Apartment & Building Planner, System Builder and similar tools help you design a system. Here is exactly how they handle your information:

  • Address search and maps. When you type an address, the text you type is sent directly from your browser to a map and address service, such as Esri (ArcGIS geocoding), to suggest and locate the address, and, as a backup when Esri cannot find it, OpenStreetMap's Nominatim. Satellite and map imagery is loaded from map providers such as Google (Google Maps Platform) and Esri, which receive your IP address, the map area you view and technical information, as needed to deliver the images. These providers handle that information under their own privacy policies, including the Google Privacy Policy. We do not use device GPS or location services in these tools.
  • Where your plan is saved. Your plan (address, map location, cameras, drawings and answers) is saved in your browser's local storage so you can come back to it, and it is written into the plan link in your browser's address bar. We do not upload your plan or your floor-plan images to our servers unless you send them to us; floor plans are processed in your browser. Analytics and advertising tools on our Sites (see Section 6) receive the addresses of the pages you visit, which can include a plan link and the details in it. You can clear a saved plan at any time with "Start over" or by clearing your browser data.
  • Plan links. A plan link contains the address and plan details. Anyone you share it with can open the plan, so share it only with people you trust.
  • When you send a plan to us. If you send your plan to a Silarius specialist, request a quote, or add the plan to your cart, we receive the details you send (for example your name, email, phone, the address, the parts list and the plan link) and use them to answer you, prepare quotes and fulfill orders. Plans added to the cart are attached to your order.

Please plan only properties you own, occupy or are authorized to plan, and do not enter other people's personal information in the tools.

5. How we use personal information

  • To provide the Services: process and deliver orders, payments, returns, warranty claims and subscriptions; provide Silarius Cloud and Live Monitoring; run the planning tools; prepare quotes; manage accounts, dealer accounts and rewards; and give support.
  • To communicate with you: send order, shipping, renewal, security and service messages; answer questions; and, as the law allows, send marketing you can opt out of at any time.
  • To personalize and improve: remember your cart, plans and preferences, show relevant products, measure how the Sites and tools are used, fix problems and develop new features.
  • For advertising: show our ads on other websites and apps and measure their results (see Section 6).
  • For security and legal reasons: prevent and investigate fraud, abuse, unauthorized resale and security incidents; enforce our Terms; meet tax, accounting, export control and other legal duties; and protect the rights, property and safety of Silarius, our customers and others.
  • For business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets.

We may also create de-identified or aggregated information that does not identify you and use it for any lawful purpose. We do not try to re-identify it.

6. Cookies, pixels, analytics and advertising

We and our partners use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage and similar technologies to run the Sites (for example your cart, sign-in and saved plans), to remember preferences, to measure use and performance, and to advertise. These include tools provided by Shopify, Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Merchant Center), Microsoft (Microsoft Advertising), Meta (Facebook and Instagram), our review, loyalty, chat and video providers (for example embedded Vimeo videos), and similar partners. These partners may collect information about your use of our Sites over time and across other websites and use it to show you ads and measure them.

Under some US state laws, sharing information with advertising partners for targeted advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page, and, where our Sites can detect it, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising for that browser and, if you are signed in or we can otherwise identify you, for your account. The Your Privacy Choices link appears in the footer of both Sites. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info, and control Google ads at adssettings.google.com. Blocking some cookies may stop parts of the Sites, such as the cart or saved plans, from working. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals other than GPC.

7. How we share personal information

We share personal information only as described here:

  • Service providers who process it for us under contracts that limit their use, such as Shopify (our e-commerce platform and hosting), payment processors, shipping carriers and warehouses, distributors and manufacturers that ship orders directly to you, cloud hosting and video platform providers, map and address providers, email, chat, review and loyalty providers, fraud prevention services, IT and security providers, accountants and lawyers.
  • Monitoring providers. If you subscribe to Live Monitoring, we share your site details, contacts, response instructions and camera access with the monitoring operators and providers we engage, who may be located outside the United States, so they can monitor your cameras.
  • Manufacturers and distributors, when needed to fulfill an order, register a product, process a warranty or return, or confirm a special order, project price or government purchase.
  • Advertising and analytics partners, as described in Section 6, unless you opt out.
  • Dealers and installers, if you ask us to connect you with one or if your project was referred by one.
  • Authorities and others for legal reasons: to comply with law, subpoenas, court orders or other legal process; to respond to lawful requests from government authorities; to protect rights, property and safety; and to investigate fraud or security issues. Live Monitoring operators may share video and information with police and emergency services when responding to an incident.
  • Business transfers: to a buyer or successor in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, under this policy.
  • With your consent or at your direction, for example when you share a plan link or post a public review.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.

8. Silarius Cloud and Live Monitoring video data

When a business or person connects cameras to Silarius Cloud or Live Monitoring, the video, audio, images, alerts and analytics results from those cameras ("Customer Video Data") may include images of people. Our customer decides where cameras are placed, what is recorded, which analytics are turned on and how long video is kept, and is responsible for giving any notices and getting any consents the law requires. Silarius and its service providers process Customer Video Data only on the customer's behalf and instructions, to provide, secure and support the service, and as required by law. We do not sell Customer Video Data or use it for advertising.

Optional AI features may detect people, vehicles, license plates, faces or other objects. Where a customer turns on face recognition or license plate recognition, the customer is the business responsible for that data under biometric and license plate laws. If you have been recorded by a camera that a Silarius customer operates and want to make a request about that video, please contact the business that operates the camera. If you contact us, we will forward your request to that customer where we can identify them, and help them respond as the law requires.

Biometric and license plate data. Face templates and license plate reads created by Silarius Cloud analytics are processed only for the customer that turned the feature on. They are not sold, leased or traded, are not disclosed except to our service providers, to that customer or as required by law, and are permanently destroyed when the customer deletes them, when the analytics add-on or subscription ends, or when the customer's retention period ends, and in all cases no later than three years after the individual's last interaction with the customer.

Customer Video Data is kept for the retention period of the customer's plan and then deleted on a rolling basis, or sooner if the customer deletes it or the subscription ends, as described in our Subscription and purchase options policy. Video saved by monitoring operators about an incident is kept as needed to document the incident and for legal purposes.

9. How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, to resolve disputes and to enforce our agreements. Our general retention periods are:

  • Identifiers, contact details and account information: for the life of your account and up to 7 years after your last order or account activity.
  • Commercial, order, payment and tax records: 7 years.
  • Quote requests, plans you send us, monitoring sign-ups and dealer applications: up to 3 years after our last contact with you, unless they become part of an order or contract.
  • Chat transcripts and support emails: up to 3 years.
  • Device and usage information collected through cookies and similar technologies: up to 26 months.
  • Inferences: up to 24 months.
  • Information saved in your browser by our tools: until you clear it.

When we no longer need personal information, we delete or de-identify it.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, and our platform and payment providers maintain their own security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your password safe and tell us right away if you think your account has been compromised. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

11. Your choices and rights

Choices for everyone. You can update your account details, unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, reply STOP (or tell us in any other reasonable way) to stop marketing texts, opt out of targeted advertising on our Your Privacy Choices page or with GPC, and clear saved plans from your browser.

US state privacy rights. Depending on the state where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia), and subject to the exceptions in those laws, you may have the right to:

  • know or confirm whether we process your personal information and access it, including the categories of sources, purposes and recipients;
  • receive a copy of your personal information in a portable format;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete personal information we collected from or about you;
  • opt out of the sale of personal information, the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects;
  • limit the use of sensitive personal information, where applicable (we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that require this right); and
  • not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

How to make a request. Email info@silarius.com with the subject "Privacy request", or call 1-833-745-2748. To opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising, use our Your Privacy Choices page. We will verify your request by matching information you give us with information we hold (for example your email and a recent order number), and we may ask for more information if needed. An authorized agent may submit a request for you with your signed permission, and we may ask you to confirm your identity directly. We respond within the time the law requires (generally 45 days, which may be extended as the law allows).

Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing info@silarius.com with the subject "Privacy appeal" within 60 days. We will respond in writing within the time the law requires. If you are not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.

California notice at collection and disclosures. In the last 12 months we collected the categories in Section 2 from the sources in Section 3, for the purposes in Section 5, and disclosed them for business purposes to the categories of recipients in Section 7. We may have "sold" or "shared" identifiers, device and usage information, commercial information and inferences with advertising and analytics partners as described in Section 6. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. Retention is described in Section 9. California's "Shine the Light" law lets California residents ask once a year about disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing; we do not make such disclosures.

Nevada. We do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law. You may still send a request to opt out to info@silarius.com.

12. Notice of financial incentive: Silarius rewards

We may offer reward points, discounts or similar benefits (for example through our rewards program) for purchases, creating an account, referrals or other activities described in the program. To take part, you give us your contact details and we track your purchases and activity. You opt in by joining the program and can stop at any time by contacting us at info@silarius.com; earned benefits may then be lost as the program terms state. We estimate that the value of your personal information to us is reasonably equal to the value of the benefits we offer, based on the expected cost of those benefits.

13. Children

Our Services are meant for adults and businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where state law sets that age). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. International users and transfers

We are based in the United States and our Services are intended for customers in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States and in other countries where we and our service providers operate, including Live Monitoring operators located outside the United States, whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where the law requires, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

15. Shopify

Our Sites are powered by Shopify, which provides our online store platform, checkout and customer accounts. Shopify processes personal information to provide these services to us and, in some cases, uses it for its own purposes, for example to improve its services, prevent fraud and provide Shop app features, as described in the Shopify Privacy Policy. When you use Shop Pay or the Shop app, Shopify's own terms and privacy policy apply to that use.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on the Sites and, where the law requires, notify you or ask for your consent.
