The TVS-882ST3 8-Bay NAS Enclosure from QNAP provides a Thunderbolt 3/NAS/iSCSI SAN triple solution and supports higher bandwidths, including 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 and 10GbE networks for optimizing 4K video transfers and online editing. It is well-suited for use with Thunderbolt-equipped Mac and Windows users who are engaging in file storage, high-speed sharing, and 4K workflows, including on-the-fly or offline 4K H.264 transcoding.

The TVS-882ST3 is powered by a 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad-Core processor and 8GB of 2133 MHz DDR4 RAM in a 8GB configuration, which can be upgraded to 32GB. Network connectivity is achieved using the two 10GbE ports and two Gigabit Ethernet ports that help with demanding tasks such as virtualization and intensive backup/restoration, or access 10GbE networks using the Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet 10GbE converter via Thunderbolt 3. This NAS also supports JBOD and a variety of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and hot spare, each of which offer data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both.

This 8-bay enclosure has the ability to natively house both 2.5" SATA III 6 Gb/s hard drives and SSD drives. When using one 10GbE port, it can achieve read speeds of up to 1180 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1168 MB/s. With AES 256-bit volume encryption, read speeds max out at 1179 MB/s and write speeds are delivered up to 1150 MB/s. Using both 10GbE ports simultaneously can boost read speeds up to 2352 MB/s and write speeds up to 2255 MB/s.
