Designed to help businesses deploy data storage or virtualization environments, the TS-855X 8-Bay NAS Enclosure from QNAP enables high-speed connectivity for fast data access, backup/restoration, file server, and virtualization applications. Running the QTS operating system as standard, the TS-855X can be switched to use the ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system. With support for an extended period, this NAS is suitable for businesses requiring matching NAS models deployed in long-term projects.
Powered by a 2.8 GHz Intel Atom C5125 8-Core processor, the TS-855X is driven by 8GB of DDR4 memory that can be upgraded to 128GB. It also features a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port and two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports port, as well as two PCIe 3.0 x4 slots that can accommodate a 2.5/5/10GbE network card, a QM2 card, or a Fiber Channel card. The TS-855X supports JBOD and Single, as well as a variety of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 each of which offer data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both.
This 8-bay enclosure has the ability to natively house both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA III hard drives or SSDs, plus two M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 slots for enabling SSD caching, SSD storage pools, or Qtier auto-tiered storage. Using the external 5 Gb/s USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 and 480 Mb/s USB-A 2.0 ports, this QNAP NAS can be connected to other QNAP devices, as well as other external drives and accessories.
The TS-855X 8-Bay NAS Enclosure operates on 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz using a 250W power supply and stays cool using a 90mm CPU fan and dual 80mm system fans. It includes two Ethernet cables, a power cord, 32 screws for 3.5" drives, 24 screws for 2.5" drives, two M.2 SSD heat sinks, and two drive keys. Protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty.
